Always use a rigid metal tape measure. Fabric or cloth tailor tapes stretch over span, introducing up to 1–2 inch errors.
Note down measurements in the format Width x Height in inches. Clearly label rooms (e.g. “Living Room Left”).
Ensure safe, level eye-height when taking top jamb measurements, especially for high-ceiling architectural windows.

For standard roller and zebra blinds, you need at least 2.5 inches (65 mm) of recessed depth for the mounting brackets to fit flush inside the window opening. If you have less than 2.5 inches, choose an Outside Mount to mount the brackets securely on the wall or ceiling above the window.
No, do not make any deductions yourself! Always enter your exact window casing measurements into our product calculator. Our automated manufacturing line applies the required 1/4 inch (6–8mm) clearance deduction automatically. If you deduct it yourself, the blind may end up too narrow with light leakage at the sides.
It is very common for window frames to vary slightly. Always measure the width at the Top, Middle, and Bottom. For an Inside Mount, use the narrowest measurement so the blind cassette doesn't jam. For the height, use the longest measurement so the bottom bar reaches the sill completely.
Measuring for motorized blinds follows the exact same 3-point protocol as manual chain blinds. The tubular motor is enclosed completely inside the aluminum top roller tube and requires no extra bracket depth.
